Questions, answered
Choosing a monetization model with more context.
What is the best monetization model for an AI product?
There is no universal answer. Start with how users receive value, whether that value repeats, and what costs rise with use. A recurring product may suit a paid plan; a variable-cost tool may need usage limits; an audience product may be better suited to carefully disclosed affiliate or sponsorship support.
Should an AI tool use subscriptions or credits?
Subscriptions can fit recurring outcomes with reasonably predictable use. Credits or usage pricing can fit products where model or API cost grows with a clear, visible unit. A hybrid plan can work when users need predictable access but heavy use creates materially higher cost.
When does advertising make sense for an AI product?
Only when there is a non-disruptive surface, clear user expectations, and a privacy-conscious implementation. Wait-state advertising should be tested as a product-experience decision, not treated as a default revenue source.
